A trip to Rome isn’t complete without a visit to two of Ancient Rome’s most famous sites: the Colosseum & Roman Forum. The site of Gladiator games, animal hunts and even mock sea battles, the Colosseum was an integral part of Ancient Roman life. Just across the street from the Flavian amphitheatre is the Roman Forum. Another important and well-preserved ruin, the Roman Forum was the political and commercial heart of Ancient Rome. On our trips to Rome, we’ll have the opportunity to view both of these impressive ruins and learn about their place in history from an expert guide.
Built in 1762, the Trevi Fountain is one of the world’s largest and most famous Baroque fountains. The magnificent fountain centres around a statue of the Greek god Oceanus and is packed with beautiful artistic detail. Today, the fountain attracts millions of visitors each year and legend has it that if you throw a coin in with your back facing the fountain, you ensure a trip back to the Eternal City! On our holidays to Rome, we’ll visit the fountain on a guided walking tour to take pictures and throw in coins of our own.
Known the world over as the final resting place of St. Peter the Apostle, the Basilica of St. Peter is a must-see attraction on any trip to Rome.
