Travel to Portugal
Arrive in Faro
Let’s travel to Portugal! Today let’s travel to Faro airport where we will meet our local representative before travelling to our hotel in Vilamoura.
This evening let’s get together with our fellow travellers for dinner at our hotel.
Boat trip on a traditional Portuguese sailing boat
Let’s embark on a memorable two-hour boat trip aboard a traditional Portuguese sailing boat. The traditional sailing boat, with its distinctive wooden craftsmanship and billowing sails, exudes charm and nostalgia, taking you back to a bygone era of maritime exploration. Let’s cruise along the stunning coastline of the Algarve, where towering cliffs meet the azure waters of the Atlantic Ocean. As we set sail from the picturesque harbour of Lagos, an ancient maritime town with more than 2000 years of history, we’ll enjoy an authentic nautical experience, to Ponta da Piedade, where we anchor. Changing to a smaller boat, let's marvel at the dramatic rock formations, hidden caves, and secluded beaches that dot the coastline from our perfect vantage point on the water.
Today you have a full day at leisure where you can enjoy the comfort of your hotel and its swimming pool, or go out to discover more of Vilamoura. The marina is a vibrant hub of activity, lined with elegant yachts, luxury boutiques, and waterfront restaurants. Why not take a leisurely stroll along its promenade, where you'll find an enticing mix of cafes, bars, and shops to relax and enjoy the picturesque views. Or if you are looking for some more culture, step back in time and explore the ruins of a Roman villa complex in the nearby small archaeological site, Cerro da Vila. The choice is yours!
Walking tour of Tavira
This morning let’s discover more with a walking tour around Tavira, one of the most beautiful towns of the Algarve, where we will find a unique blend of traditional and Moorish architecture. Tavira is commonly known as the Venice of the Algarve, due to its location near the estuary of the river Gilão. That is why many people find this historic town with picturesque places and cobbled streets one of the most beautiful towns in the Algarve.
You have the afternoon on your own, to relax at the hotel swimming pool or explore at your own pace.
The day is all yours. If you want to see more, you can ask our guide for some recommendations. Why not, for example, go sunbathing on the beach? From the popular Praia da Falésia, a long expanse of golden sands backed by dramatic cliffs, to Praia de Vilamoura itself, with its crystal-clear waters and its vibrant beach bars, sun-seekers are spoilt for choice.
Boat trip along the river Guadiana
Today let’s experience the enchanting beauty of the Guadiana River with a delightful 90 minutes boat trip in Ayamontes. Located in the southwestern corner of Spain, near the border with Portugal, let’s immerse ourselves in the natural beauty and rich history of this charming region. As we board our boat, let’s get ready for a journey that will take us through picturesque landscapes, quaint villages, and a tapestry of cultural treasures on this famous river, the 4th longest one on the Iberian Peninsula.
Free time in the Algarve
Today is free to relax and take in some further sightseeing. For a taste of local culture and history, or discover more with a visit to Vilamoura's Old Village. Here you will find charming cobblestone streets lined with traditional whitewashed houses adorned with colourful flowers. Explore the quaint shops selling local handicrafts to bring back some souvenirs, have lunch in authentic Portuguese restaurants, or simply soak in the atmosphere at one of the cozy cafes for a true local experience.
On our last day, it’s time to say farewell to the lovely Algarve region and set off for home; as we travel with guide assistance to the airport for our flight home.
