Visit Lake Garda and immerse yourself in an Italian holiday full of relaxation, beauty and culture amid a stunning natural backdrop. While Lake Garda is renowned for its magnificent landscape it also has a rich culture and intriguing past. History enthusiasts will enjoy exploring the quaint medieval villages that dot the lake and there are many attractions of both historical and cultural significance to visit in the region. On this fantastic 7-night Italy tour, we’ll have plenty of time to soak up the relaxing, tranquil atmosphere of Lake Garda, experiencing the quaint towns of Riva del Garda, Limone and Malcesine. We will also enjoy full day excursions to explore the enchanting warren of canals and squares that make up the city of Venice and the charming UNESCO World Heritage Site of Verona.
Please Note:
- Holidays departing from November to March will include an excursion to the town of Bolzano instead of the boat tour.
- Holidays departing in July & August will include lunch on the Venice excursion day.
- There may also be a separate visitor fee for Venice on certain days, to be paid locally.
- Stays in the Hotel Le Palme, Hotel Centrale, Grand Hotel Riva and Garda Hotels Italia will be on a Bed & Breakfast basis. (Please note Christmas and New Year stays at Garda Hotels Italia are on Half Board basis)

Transfer to Lake Garda
Upon arrival in Italy, you will be met in the arrivals area of the airport by our local representative who will accompany you to our hotel on Lake Garda.
As you travel to your hotel, our guide will share some information about the local region, suggest activities for you to enjoy and answer any questions you may have.
Boat Trip On Lake Garda
Lake Garda Boat Trip to Limone and Malcesine
After breakfast, join our guide for a short walking tour of Riva del Garda before boarding a private boat for a scenic Lake Garda tour.
- First stop is Limone, a charming village backed by lemon groves
- Continue across the lake to Malcesine, known for its medieval Scaligero Castle and mountain backdrop
- Return by boat to Riva del Garda
- Option to spend longer in Malcesine, perhaps taking the 1,800m-high cable car
- Later return to Riva del Garda by public bus or boat at your own expense
Please note:
- This schedule applies to the summer season only and is weather-dependent. During the winter months, there will instead be an excursion to Bolzano in scenic South Tyrol.
- For holidays based in Limone or Malcesine, a coach transfer has been arranged from your hotel to Riva del Garda. There will be a short walking tour and some free time before beginning your boat tour.

Today, you will have a full day to relax and enjoy Lake Garda at your own pace.

- Sit by the lake and take in the views
- Travel across the water by taxi to explore another lakeside setting

Optional Excursion - The Italian Alps with wine tasting
Appreciate the beauty of the Italian Alps on this optional excursion through unspoilt mountainsides and tiny medieval villages. A highlight of the afternoon is an included wine tasting among the vineyards.
Booking before departure is advised. Booking locally or over the phone with the reservations team will be subject to availability. Please note that optional excursions are subject to minimum numbers.
Excursion to Venice
Full-Day Excursion to Venice from Lake Garda
Today, we’ll enjoy a full-day excursion to Venice, one of Italy’s most atmospheric cities and a highlight of many Venice and Lake Garda holiday itineraries.
Explore the maze of canals, narrow alleys and historic squares that make Venice so distinctive. Known as La Serenissima, or The Most Serene, the city is home to famous landmarks including:
- St Mark’s Square
- The Gothic Ca’ d’Oro
- Palazzo Ducale
You can also admire 16th- and 17th-century art in the Galleria Franchetti and take a photograph on the Ponte di Rialto.
Please note: For holidays departing in July and August, this excursion will leave the hotel in the late morning. We’ll stop for a light lunch, which is included, en route before continuing to Venice in the afternoon and returning to Lake Garda in the evening.

Explore Lake Garda at Your Own Pace
Today, you will have the day at leisure.
In the heart of Riva del Garda, Piazza III Novembre is surrounded by 14th-century porticos and the Apponale Tower, a former defence tower and First World War prison. This historic square is a lovely place to explore during your free time.
Our local guide will also be happy to suggest further activities based on your interests.
Trip to Verona
Full-Day Trip to Verona from Lake Garda
After breakfast, we’ll depart by coach for Verona, travelling either along the east side of Lake Garda or by motorway. The journey usually takes around 60 minutes.
Verona is a popular visitor destination and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognised for the importance of its historic buildings such as:
- Roman amphitheatre, home to the world-famous Verona Opera Festival
- Juliet’s balcony, one of Verona’s most photographed sights
Free Time on Lake Garda
Final Free Day on Lake Garda
Spend your last full day enjoying Lake Garda’s beautiful lakeside setting. You may wish to:
- Shop for last-minute souvenirs
- Take a gentle stroll
- Relax with a coffee, gelato or glass of wine at a local café

You will be transferred to the airport with guide assistance for your flight home.
