Join us on a journey back in time to the land where civilization began on this magnificent 7-night holiday to Ancient Greece. One of the world’s oldest cities with a history spanning over 3,400 years, the Greek capital of Athens holds a multitude of ancient treasures and ruins ripe for exploration. We’ll wander through the awe-inspiring hilltop citadel of the Acropolis to admire the incredible Parthenon and the Erechtheion Temple, before visiting the famous ruins of Delphi on a full day excursion. Next, we’ll travel to the picturesque village of Tolo, located on a beautiful bay on the Peloponnese peninsula. From here, we’ll enjoy a full day exploring the Argolis region and take a trip to the island of Spetses.

Travel to Athens, Greece
Arrive in Athens
We have arrived in Athens! Upon arrival, we meet our local representative and transfer to our hotel.
At Leisure in Athens
After settling in, you have the rest of the day at leisure to relax and become familiar with our surroundings. Perhaps visit the National Archaeological Museum, a wonderful introduction to the treasures and stories of Ancient Greece.
Discover Athens - The Birthplace of Ancient Greece
Guided Tour of the Acropolis and Historic Landmarks
Today we begin discovering Athens on a guided excursion through this fascinating historic city. We step back in time as we explore the iconic Acropolis of Athens, an ancient hilltop citadel overlooking the city.
Here we admire some of Greece’s most famous landmarks, including:
- The magnificent Parthenon, a masterpiece of classical architecture
- The Erechtheion, an ancient temple dedicated to Athena and Poseidon
We continue our tour with a visit to the Panathenaic Stadium (outside view), the historic venue of the first modern Olympic Games and the only stadium in the world built entirely from marble!
Please note: Comfortable and sturdy footwear is recommended for exploring the Acropolis
At Leisure in Athens
The rest of the day is yours to enjoy Athens at your own pace.
- Visit the House of Parliament and watch the changing of the guards
- Explore the city’s charming streets
- Relax in a traditional café while sampling some delicious Greek cuisine

Explore Ancient Delphi and Temple of Apollo
Guided Tour of Delphi, Home of the Oracle
Today we travel beyond Athens to discover Delphi, one of Ancient Greece’s most important archaeological sites.
- During our guided visit, we explore the impressive ruins of the Temple of Apollo
- We discover more about this fascinating ancient sanctuary
- We also visit the Delphi Museum, where we can admire remarkable artefacts including the bronze Charioteer of Delphi, the Naxian Sphinx and the Statue of Antinous
After a memorable day uncovering Greece’s ancient past, we return to Athens, travelling through beautiful countryside of rolling hills and fields before arriving back at our hotel in the evening.
Travel to Beachside Tolo Via the Corinth Canal
Relaxed Morning in Athens
Before leaving Athens, you have some free time to enjoy more of this fascinating city.
- Take a stroll through the atmospheric Plaka district
- Enjoy a traditional Greek coffee
- Visit the Acropolis Museum for further insight into Greece’s incredible history
After some time to explore, we depart for Tolo, our seaside base for the next part of our journey. There will be time for a light lunch (not included) before we set off on our new adventure!
Scenic Journey to Tolo Via the Corinth Canal
As we travel towards Tolo, (journey time approximately 3 hours) we stop at the impressive Corinth Canal, a remarkable feat of engineering connecting the Saronic Gulf with the Gulf of Corinth.
We continue our journey to the charming coastal town of Tolo, arriving in time to enjoy dinner at our hotel.
Uncover the Historic Argolis Region
Explore Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplio
Today we uncover more of Greece’s ancient wonders as we explore the historic Argolis region.
- Our journey begins at Mycenae, one of the most significant archaeological sites of Ancient Greece
- We continue to Epidaurus, where we admire the incredible ancient amphitheatre, renowned for its remarkable acoustics and beautiful setting
- Later, we visit the picturesque seaside town of Nafplio, with its elegant Venetian architecture, colourful streets and charming harbour
- Enjoy time to relax, browse local shops and perhaps savour lunch in one of the town’s cafés before returning to our hotel
Relax in Coastal Tolo
Enjoy a Day of Leisure by the Sea
Today, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Tolo at your own pace.
- Take a leisurely walk along the seafront
- Unwind on one of the beaches
- Enjoy traditional Greek dishes and a refreshing drink while watching the world go by

Boat Trip to Island of Spetses
Experience Greek Island Charm
Today we discover the beautiful island of Spetses.
- We travel by coach to Costa before taking a short sea taxi journey across to the island
- Once we arrive, we can soak up the elegant atmosphere of Spetses, known for its Venetian mansions, picturesque streets and traditional Greek charm
- Enjoy time to relax by the sea, explore local shops or simply take in the island’s unique character before returning to our hotel in the afternoon
Depart Athens, Greece
Return Home from Athens
On our final day, we say goodbye to Greece and the unforgettable highlights of our journey through Ancient Greece. We depart Tolo and transfer to Athens Airport for our return flight home, taking with us wonderful memories of historic landmarks, beautiful landscapes and Greek hospitality.
