Today, we will have the day at leisure to explore the historic and charming town of Salo. Don't forget to check with your local guide who will be delighted to suggest further activities to suit your interests.
Join us this morning for a full day visit to Bergamo, which has been described as the prettiest open-air museum in the world. On day’s guided excursion we will explore the ‘Citta Alta’ (The Upper Town) home to such historic sites as the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, Piazza Vecchia and the Contarini Fountain. Enjoy some free time at leisure strolling the cobbled streets and laneways of the historic upper town full of craft shops, restaurants and bars.
On our free days, let’s take it easy and get to know our surroundings at a leisurely pace. We’ll savour the moments browsing the shops and perhaps enjoying an alfresco lunch or aperitif while watching the world go by.
Let’s discover more on a day trip to Verona! Verona is very popular among tourists as well as being a significant commercial hub, given its position halfway between Venice and Milan. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the importance of its historical buildings and is probably best known today for the Roman amphitheatre, now home to the world-famous Verona Opera festival, which runs from late June to early September. Also of interest is Juliet's balcony - the fact that the balcony was added to the house in the 20th century doesn't deter the hundreds of thousands of visitors that flock to see and photograph it every year.
Spend your last day enjoying the beautiful lakeside setting, shopping for last minute souvenirs or enjoying a coffee, gelato or glass of wine at a local cafe.
