Take a half day tour of Dubrovnik with your expert local guide, to learn of the city’s remarkable history and discover its important monuments and sites. Entrance to the Franciscan Monastery and City Cathedral are included.
The afternoon can be spent at your leisure. Perhaps you could take the cable car to the top of the Srd Hill where you can take in some breathtaking views of the Old Town. Your guide would be delighted to recommend some other hidden gems for you to discover.
Boat Trip to the Elaphite Islands
After breakfast you will meet your guide who will accompany you on a full day's excursion around the Elaphite Islands. This archipelago is largely unspoilt and is literally named the "Deer Islands' after the Roman Geographer Pliny the Elder mentioned them in his 37 volume Historia Naturalis in the first century AD.
You will be served lunch on board and entertainment will be supplied by a traditional Croatian band who will play local music as well as some well-known Irish favourites.
(Note that in the rare case of unsuitable weather, this excursion may be re-scheduled to a different day).
Revisit Dubrovnik and explore its pearly streets. There are monasteries, churches and museums to discover, as well as delightful cafes and excellent shops. Chat with your guide during the previous day’s tours and pick up some tips and information on how to make the most of this fabulous location.
After breakfast today you will set off for a full day excursion to the neighbouring country of Montenegro. After crossing the border you will travel across the fjord-like bay of Kotor to visit one of two artificial islets off the coast of Perast, Our Lady of the Rocks, and its quaint Roman Catholic Church.
Continue on to the pretty coastal town of Kotor, a UNESCO world heritage site - the exotic scenery along the winding coastal road is breathtaking.
On arrival your local guide will take you on a tour of the town and the Old Port, with its surrounding fortifications built during the Venetian period. Afterwards, you will have free time for lunch and to explore at your own pace before travelling back to your hotel in Dubrovnik.
April 12th 2017 to May 10th 2017
Due to recent delays of up to 2 hours each way at the Montenegro/Croatia border, the excursion to Montenegro is being replaced with a visit to Korcula, one of Croatia’s most beautiful islands. This is currently in effect for departures from April 12th 2017 to May 10th 2017. We will keep a close eye on this situation and these dates may be extended.
Korcula has a fascinating history, not least because of its associations with the great explorer, Marco Polo. After breakfast at your hotel you will travel by coach to Orebic on the scenic Peljesac peninsula, and then continue to Korcula by boat. On arrival, your local guide will take you on a tour of the Old Town, with its medieval towers and city walls fortifying Korcula’s harbour. Afterwards, you will have free time for lunch and to explore at your own pace before travelling back to your hotel in Dubrovnik.
Two free days to relax at your hotel and explore your enchanting surroundings at your own pace. Enjoy a dip in the clear aquamarine waters of the Adriatic, try some delicious local specialities in one of the many reasonably priced cafes and restaurants or take in some shopping and sightseeing in Dubrovnik’s atmospheric Old City.
Time to bid farewell to Dubrovnik. Transfer from your hotel with guide assistance to the airport for your flight home.
