Travel to Croatia
Depart on your direct flight to Dubrovnik, where you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel. Plenty of information will be provided, to help get your holiday up and running!
Take a half day tour of Dubrovnik with your expert local guide, to learn of the city’s remarkable history and discover its important monuments and sites. Entrance to the Franciscan Monastery and City Cathedral are included.
The afternoon can be spent at your leisure. Perhaps you could take the cable car to the top of the Srd Hill where you can take in some breathtaking views of the Old Town. Your guide would be delighted to recommend some other hidden gems for you to discover.
Boat Trip to the Elaphite Islands
After breakfast you will meet your guide who will accompany you on a full day's excursion around the Elaphite Islands. This archipelago is largely unspoilt and is literally named the "Deer Islands' after the Roman Geographer Pliny the Elder mentioned them in his 37 volume Historia Naturalis in the first century AD.
You will be served lunch on board and entertainment will be supplied by a traditional Croatian band who will play local music as well as other popular favourites.
(Note that in the rare case of unsuitable weather, this excursion may be re-scheduled to a different day).
Revisit Dubrovnik and explore its pearly streets. There are monasteries, churches and museums to discover, as well as delightful cafes and excellent shops. Chat with your guide during the previous day’s tours and pick up some tips and information on how to make the most of this fabulous location.
After breakfast today you will set off for a full day excursion to the neighbouring country of Montenegro. After crossing the border you will travel across the fjord-like bay of Kotor to visit one of two artificial islets off the coast of Perast, Our Lady of the Rocks, and its quaint Roman Catholic Church.
Continue on to the pretty coastal town of Kotor, a UNESCO world heritage site - the exotic scenery along the winding coastal road is breathtaking.
On arrival your local guide will take you on a tour of the town and the Old Port, with its surrounding fortifications built during the Venetian period. Afterwards, you will have free time for lunch and to explore at your own pace before travelling back to your hotel in Dubrovnik.
***Please note that due to current prolonged delays at the border crossing, the visit to Montenegro may be replaced with an excursion to the island of Korcula.
Today is free to relax at your hotel and explore your enchanting surroundings at your own pace. Why not enjoy a dip in the clear aquamarine waters of the Adriatic or try some delicious local specialities in one of the many reasonably priced cafes and restaurants or take in some shopping and sightseeing in Dubrovnik’s atmospheric Old City.
Mostar Optional tour
Mostar is a famous historical city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2005. While in Mostar, you can learn more about this old city from your local guide during a tour of the Old town and visit the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge) which is an elegant single span stone bridge. Mostar is a typical example of East meeting West. After the city tour, you can enjoy some free time to browse the colourful Bazaar for souvenirs to take home. Good walking shoes are advised if you plan on crossing the bridge. Depending on traffic and border crossing, the journey to Mostar will take about 3.5hours, with a toilet/coffee break on the way. Passports are required as you will cross over into Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Minimum number required: 12 - tour will not operate if minimum numbers are not reached.
Spend the last day of your holiday as you please. Relax by the sea or in the outdoor pool at your hotel. Ask your guide for some local things to see around your area. You may wish to do a spot of shopping and pick up some local craft to take back home with you.
Time to bid farewell to Dubrovnik. Transfer from your hotel with guide assistance to the airport for your flight home.
