Bake Off

Travel Department Bake Offs

Gina Hingerty – Customer Service Executive

I love cooking and my kitchen cupboards are stocked with all kinds of interesting ingredients. About 10 years ago, in order to become involved with fundraising for the Alzheimer Society’s Tea Day, I asked a colleague for a baking recipe. That recipe was a simple one for oat cookies and the results went down very well.  From that moment on, I was well and truly bitten by the baking bug.

I love baking for Travel Department’s charity bake-offs and I have progressed through simple loaf cakes to rich chocolate brownies, red velvet cupcakes, pecan pies and quite a lot more.  The downside of this lovely hobby is that a seriously sweet tooth has developed along with the baking skills ...but the upside is seeing all the happy faces as they tuck in to my latest efforts !  My favourite baking recipe is a coconut and lime macadamia nut cake... mmm!

Travel Department Running Club

Damien Meehan – Financial Director

Up until summer 2013 I was only associated with Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and tour revenue analysis - then I decided to take up jogging & running. I've been running for over tw

o years now and my running has been built up by hitting 5km, 10km, half marathon & full marathon targets along the way. It takes time, effort, commitment and has to be built up patiently but it’s great fun, addictive, and been ver
y rewarding for the body and mind. Plus it gives me bundles of energy!

Travel Department’s weekly running club is sprinting into its second year pounding the pavements every Tuesday evening around the Dublin Docklands. As our numbers grow, we’re looking forward to taking part in a number of running events during the year and always ready for a new and fun challenge.

Christmas Party

Travel Department Christmas Parties

Hannah Reynolds Product Executive

I am a member of the Travel Department Social Committee and am heavily involved in organising the Christmas parties as this is my favourite time of year which I start preparing for in September!

In my personal life, I am also involved in organising a number of fundraisers for the Irish Cancer Society and the Irish Hospice Foundation as these are charities which are close to my heart.

I am an ambitious Honours Post Graduate with extensive work experience gained in a variety of sectors, including Insurance, Marketing, Sales, Banking and of course the Travel sector. I enjoy both watching and attending rugby matches and concerts and I absolutely love travelling.
