IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING YOUR TOURIST VISA

All foreign nationals, including children, require a visa to enter India. It is each individual passenger’s responsibility to obtain the appropriate tourist visa and to make sure that when you receive it, all details are correct.

The information provided in this document relates to Irish and British passport holders. All other applications should contact Indian Embassy for advice.

For Travel Department’s itinerary, you will require a single entry tourist visa. You must apply for this visa online. The visa is valid for 60 days from the date of arrival in India. E-visa applicants can apply online 120 days before the date of travel. Once completed, you must print your E-visa and carry a copy with you. Biometric details of the applicant will be mandatorily captured at Immigration on arrival in India.

Eligibility for an e-Tourist Visa

  1. International travellers whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, short duration medical treatment or casual business visit.
  2. Passport should have at least six months validity from the date of arrival in India. The passport should have at least two blank pages for stamping by the Immigration Officer.
  3. International Travellers should have return ticket or onward journey ticket, with sufficient money to spend during his/her stay in India.
  4. Not available to Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders.

 

How do I obtain my E Visa?

OPTION 1 – APPLY ONLINE ON THE OFFICIAL INDIAN GOVERNMENT WEBSITE

Complete the online form at indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html. One application is required per person. Please note down the application ID number before making your payment.

You will need to upload the following documents as part of the process

1.        Scanned first page of passport. (with picture)

·          Format –PDF

·          Size : Minimum 10 KB ,Maximum 300KB

2.        A digital photograph(colour)

·          Format –JPEG

·          Size Minimum 10 KB, Maximum 1M

Once you receive your Indian visa approval email, you need to log on to the website below and print the granted visa form. There will be a blue box marked ‘Visa Status’. Enter your application ID number, passport number, other required text and click ‘check status’. Please ensure that the visa shows GRANTED at indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html, before printing.

FEES:

  • The fee for an Irish passport holder is US$80.00 per person.
  • The fee for a British passport holder is US$100.00 per person.

The responsibility lies solely with the customer to supply the correct information on time in order to obtain a valid visa for travel. Travel Department accepts no liability for any issues encountered by customers who do not obtain a visa in time for their holiday. Customers may be refused entry into their destination if a complete and correct visa application is not processed in time.
